When I get my paws on a interior design magazine like Casa Design, I can’t help but pour meticulously over every page, deciding which bits of said room design I would like in my own home if I had the cash. I must say, there was a clever piece of furniture that combined the concepts of ‘armchair’ and ‘fishbowl’ which became a personal favourite, although I would feel sorry for any fish that had to live in a chair… the view wouldn’t really be idyllic. The world you create for yourself heavily affects your mood and general sense of wellbeing. This is why they often put fish in dentist waiting rooms to create a sense of calm, or use the colours red and yellow in restaurants to make customers feel hungry. Therefore it is important that you feel happy and relaxed at home so one can settle down after a long day at work and can feel content. Whether that be sweeping gleaming surfaces and a black leather couch, or a threadbare rug and books scattered about, it is vital to be at home when at home! Seems an obvious statement, but choosing the right blend of colour, furniture, juxtaposition etc all contributes to easing your mind.
